Job Description

Attention - this posting is not for regular employment with OUSD but is instead only for applicants who have already been selected.  

    • Will work 2-3 days per week:
      • 10 Hours/Week
        • Mondays 2-7pm
        • Fridays 11am-5pm
      • Additional day as needed to conduct interviews & focus groups.
      • After completion of the Listening Campaign, fellows may participate in the APISA Collaborative with the potential to stay on as fellows year-round.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interview Community-Based Organizations and Education Leaders.
  • Design research project and develop focus group and interview questions.
  • Outreach to school sites to invite students and families to focus groups.
  • Co-facilitate at least one focus group.
  • Transcribe one focus group or interview.
  • Present findings to school district leaders and community members.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Research report compilation.
  • Presentation to OUSD school leaders.
  • Transcription of interviews and focus groups.

Youth-Led Participatory Action Research (YPAR)

We will use YPAR to conduct focus groups and interviews with hundreds of Asian Pacific Islander students, families and school staff across Oakland.  In between sessions, interns as available and fellows will conduct focus groups and interviews during and after school.
